The famous Irish low-cost airline Ryanair known for e.g. its additional charges policy as well as its pursuit of media attention, will introduce yet another levy from the next week.
The new levy is Ryanair’s response to the new EU emission trading scheme. The cost of the new regulation is estimated to be around 18-20 for Ryanair hence a new fee of 25 euro cents on every seat.

Big news from the US aviation market. After some months of scrutiny, the Departament of Justice gave the green light to the merger between Southwest Airlines and AirTran Airways. Thereby Southwest Airlines can close the purchase of AirTran Holdings.
