Ryanair – more than 150 new routes in 2012

After having been busy expanding to the Spanish and Italian market, the Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair is ready to enter Eastern-Europe more vigorously.

Ryanair serves a significant number of airports in the eastern part of the continent but as Michael O’Leary reveals, this is only the foretaste of the airline’s East-European growth.

Vueling to add new Barcelona flights

While Iberia permanently deals with stike threat, another Iberian carrier – the low-cost airline Vueling is continuously expanding. Recently Vueling annouced good news concerning its base in Barcelona.

Its flights network from Barcelona will be extended with around 20 new routes reaching the number of 70 destinations in the summer schedule. Let us have a look at some of the new services:

Brussels – New York flights and introductory fares

New routes and services – our weekly update

Welcome to our weekly news article. Read and keep up to date with the latest development in the world of aviation – as usually, we bring you the latest news concerning new routes and services from both low-cost airlines and traditional carriers.

The big German low-cost carrier Air Berlin launched recently a new service from Dusseldorf to Liberia via the Mexican town of Cancun. The new flights to this popular Costarican destination operate one every two weeks.

Hi fliers! After a tiny break, our weekly preview of new routes and services is back. Today’s highlights feature as usually some various traditional carriers as well as low-cost airlines. Without further ado, we start off with Hawaiian Airlines.

It was with pomp and circumstance that Hawaiian Airlines opened its next transatlantic route from Honolulu to Osaka. It is not the first service to Japan from this Hawaiian carrier – the first one was launched to Airport Tokyo last year.

Hi flyers. Nice to see you back in our weekly preview of aviation news from low-cost airlines as well as traditional carriers.

We start off with two new Nordic services from Air Berlin. Firstly, this low-cost carrier provides now a cheaper alternative on the Hamburg – Reykjavik route and engaging in competition with Lufthansa. Secondly, good new for those who dream of visiting the picturesque isle of Bornholm. Flights Berlin Bornholm are now in operation. Both routes are seasonal and stop to operate in August.

Air France launched its 13th US route, this time from Paris to Orlando. The new route connecting these Disneyland-cities is served three times a week.

The weekly update on new routes and services

Very untraditionally, the latest updates on new routes and services from low-cost airlines as well as traditional carriers come on Tuesday. This week seems not to offer so many new developments. Well, apparently the aviation industry needs a break as well.

We start off with the renowned Qatar Airways which announced the opening of new routes connecting its hub in Doha Airport with Uganda, Azerbaijan and Georgia. The route to Entebbe will be in operation as of November 2, 2011, whereas the flights to Baku and Tbilisi are to be launched on November 30, 2011.

Plenty of new transatlantic routes in 2011

It seems as though the market is not yet saturated as far as transatlantic routes are concerned given that some 28 new routes to North-American destinations are either already launched or expected to be in operation in 2011.

Among the airlines to set up routes to US and Canada are e.g. Delta, Air France, Air Berlin, SAS or British Airways. Let us take a look at a few examples of the announced services.
