WizzAir raises €50.644 for the victims in Haiti

Low cost airline WizzAir raised more than 50 thousand euros for the victims in Haiti. WizzAir announced a few weeks ago that it would give the opportunity to its passengers to contribute one euro per booking airline tickets and that it would match each donation with the same amount to help the earthquake victims in Haiti.

Wizz Air collected €25.322 euro and will match the donation by the same amount, making a total contribution of €50.644 to the Red Cross.

WizzAir fully deploys web check-in in Romania

March 10th, 2010

Low cost airline WizzAir deployed online check in service in Romania. Web check-in is now available for all flights departing from Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Tirgu Mures and Timisoara.

More airports will be introduced in the upcoming weeks and the service will be fully deployed by April 1, 2010. The web check-in is available at wizzair.com from seven days up to three hours before the scheduled departure time of the flight.

WizzAir to launch Lviv – Venice Treviso route

Low cost airline WizzAir announced that it would open new route from Lviv to Venice Treviso. New route will start from May 14, 2010 and will be operated twice a week with new Airbus 320.

WizzAir offers new route with introductory fares – new flight will be available from only €32.94 including taxes and charges. New route will become already second connection from Ukraine to Venice Treviso – WizzAir has already been operating route from Kiev.

WizzAir launches new routes to Spain and Italy

Low cost airline WizzAir announced that it would start new routes during April and May. WizzAir launches two new routes to Spain: from Warsaw to Madrid and from Gdansk to Barcelona. These flights will start on April 24 and initially operate twice a week, with fares starting from €42.49 one way, all inclusive.  New routes will replace current flights to Gothenburg from Gdansk and to Memmingen from Katowice.

Another new flight will be added from Budapest to Pisa, making it the 6th Italian city served from the Hungarian capital. This flight will start on July 1 and initially operate 3 times a week, with fares starting from €32.49 one way, all inclusive.

WizzAir launches flights from Serbia

Low cost airline WizzAir announced new routes from Serbia. New routes include flights from Belgrade to Dortmund (available from June 12, 2010) and to London Luton (available from July 24, 2010). All the flights are on sale on wizzair.com with promotional air fare starting from €24.99 one-way all inclusive.

WizzAir introduces web check-in to further airports

Low cost airline WizzAir has introduced its new web check-in service to further airports. Web check-in is now available on all flights departing from Brussels Charleroi, Budapest, Eindhoven, Gdansk, Frankfurt Hahn, Glasgow Prestwick, Hamburg Lübeck, Katowice, London Luton, Paris Beauvais, Poznan, Prague, Sofia, Turku, Warsaw, Dusseldorf Weeze and Wroclaw.

Web check-in is available on wizzair.com from seven days up to three hours before the scheduled departure time of the flight. The service does not impact on the rest of the boarding procedure: passengers are requested to present themselves at the boarding gate no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the flight.

WizzAir: new flights from Budapest and Prague

Low cost airline WizzAir announced that it would enter the Latvian market by opening three new routes from Riga, starting from March 28, 2010. The initial network will include thrice weekly services to London Luton, Oslo Torp and two flights a week to Turku.

WizzAir also announced that it would launch services from Prague to Bari and from Budapest o Turku, both twice a week initially. All the flights are on sale on wizzair.com with promotional fares starting from as low as EUR 14.99 (one way, all inclusive).

WizzAir expands its operations in Romania

Low cost airline WizzAir announced that it would expand its fleet in Romania and introduce new flights.

As of June 12, 2010 the Company will base a third aircraft in Cluj-Napoca that will enable WizzAir to launch new flights to Pisa and Cuneo Torino and increase frequencies on some of the existing routes. The new aircraft will become the seventh WizzAir Airbus A320 in the country. The airline will also add Pisa to its list of destinations from Bucharest and start new services from Timisoara to Forli Bologna.

WizzAir launches new flights to Bologna

Low cost airline WizzAir announced new flights to Italian Bologna. Passengers can travel from Budapest to Forli from March 30, 2010 three times a week on Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Airline tickets are bookable from now on. Low fares are available from only EUR 17.49 one way all inclusive on wizzair.com or by calling the call centres.

WizzAir introduces web check-in

Low cost airline WizzAir has launched web check-in. The new service is being initially introduced for flights departing from Budapest and extended gradually to flights from all airports by Spring 2010. The new web check-in service makes travel even more convenient by decreasing and potentially eliminating queuing at check-in.

The web check-in is available at wizzair.com from seven days up to three hours before the scheduled departure time of the flight. The new service does not impact on the rest of the boarding procedure: passengers are requested to present themselves at the boarding gate no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the flight.
