Virgin America announced changes to the airline’s baggage fees. Effective for all bookings made from now and for travel on or after March 1, 2010, the airline has changed its baggage fee from $20 to a flat $25 rate for almost all checked items. Any Main Cabin passenger who books a non-refundable ticket for travel on or after March 1, 2010, will also be charged a flat rate of $25 for each checked bag. Passengers can pay checked bag charges when they check in at airport kiosks, on-line or at any airport ticket counter.
Under the new fee rules, First Class guests will continue to receive up to two checked bags for free. All weight and size policies remain the same, and the airline’s carry-on baggage policy has not changed.

Airline Virgin America announced yesterday a New Year’s fare sale. Guests are encouraged to ring in the New Year by flying in high-style for less on the carrier that was named “Best Domestic Airline” in two favourite awards. Virgin America is popping the cork on some amazingly low three-day advance purchase fares to all of its destinations.
Airline tickets are on sale on Virgin America’s website (virginamerica.com) and at their call centre. Tickets must be purchased by January 11, 2010, and travel must occur between January 7, 2010 and June 20, 2010.

Virgin America today announced changes to the airline’s baggage fees. Effective for all bookings made on or after August 21, 2009, for travel starting on or after September 10, 2009, the airline has changed its baggage fee to a flat $20 rate for all checked items (excluding the first and second bag for First Class travelers; and the first bag for Main Cabin Select and Refundable Fare travelers.)
Previously, the airline’s fee was $15 for these checked items. Virgin America maintains one of the most generous first bag weight limits in the industry – up to 70 lbs.

Virgin America, the California-based airline that is reinventing domestic travel, today announced it will serve Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) with daily non-stop flights from the West Coast beginning November 18, 2009. The South Florida region will be the tenth destination in the airline’s growing network.
Virgin America will serve FLL with two daily non-stop roundtrips from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and two daily non-stop roundtrips from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The airline will also offer convenient connecting flights from Seattle, Orange County, San Diego and Las Vegas.
