Melbourne Airport welcomed its 24th international airline with V Australia launching its inaugural service fro Melbourne to Los Angeles. The twice-weekly Los Angeles route will provide Victorian passengers a new, non-stop option across the Pacific.
Los Angeles is the first of three new V Australia destinations, with weekly flights to Phuket commencing this Thursday and a direct Johannesburg service from March 13 next year.

Dubai-based airline, Emirates, and Virgin Blue Group’s new international airline, V Australia, announced a code share partnership on the trans-Tasman route, effective October 25, 2009. The code share agreement – Emirates’ first with an Australian carrier – signals yet another initiative in the airline’s commitment to Australia. It also confirms Emirates as V Australia’s first code share partner.
The new agreement will provide V Australia guests seamless connections when travelling between New Zealand and the USA. Passengers can travel on the Trans-Tasman sector using Emirates’ award-winning service and connect conveniently to/from V Australia’s international service between Sydney and Los Angeles.

Virgin America, the award-winning California-based airline that is reinventing domestic air travel, today announced it is teaming up with Australia’s newest trans-Pacific airline, V Australia to host the official party of the second annual Sunset Strip Music Festival (SSMF).
The SSMF is a three-day music festival running through September 12 that will showcase a number of the Strip’s most renowned clubs and up and coming bands. Less than seven months since launch Australia’s newest international airline, V Australia, has carried its 100,000th Guest, bringing the Virgin Blue Airline Group’s tally to 100-million Guests since Virgin Blue’s first flight in August 2000.
V Australia’s 100,000th Guest, Mr Noel Palmer from Melbourne, who travelled with his wife Kerry from Sydney to Los Angeles last night, was pleasantly surprised at check-in with a personal greeting from the Airport Manager, access to the business lounge prior to the flight and a complimentary upgrade for two to travel in V Australia’s International Business Class.

Australia’s new international airline V Australia announced Phuket and Johannesburg as its next two destinations along with a strengthened focus on Melbourne just six months after launch.
Four new V Australia routes to commence from December onwards include:
* Brisbane to Phuket, Thailand direct twice weekly from November 22, 2009.
* Melbourne to Phuket, Thailand direct flights 1 a week from December 3, 2009.
* Melbourne to Los Angeles, USA direct flights twice weekly from December 1, 2009.
* Melbourne to Johannesburg, South Africa direct flights from March 13, 2010.

Pacific Blue and V Australia have made it easier for Kiwis to book a low fare to the USA with online fares now available at flypacificblue.com and vaustralia.co.nz. For the past three months Kiwi travellers have been able to book fares on the Pacific Blue-V Australia code share flights via travel agents, but can now also go online and book flights.

V Australia continues to shake up the market with the introduction of super cheap one-way tickets between Los Angeles – Sydney and Brisbane offering more flexibility for travelers, which are on sale now.
While one-way fares are not new to the arena, V Australia is the first airline to offer one-way fares across ALL of its fare brackets, including its lowest lead-in fares, offering one-way tickets from just $359, approximately 76% lower than the lowest one-way fare currently offered by competitor airlines.

Virgin Blue‘s international airline V Australia and Delta Air Lines have negotiated and signed an Australia-U.S. interline agreement offering seamless travel on the networks of each carrier and across the trans-Pacific route. Effective immediately, the agreement allows travelers to purchase a single ticket from their Travel Agent, V Australia or Delta for travel between the U.S. and Australia on either carrier.
Delta Air Lines is the world’s largest airline and the second largest domestic US carrier. The airline operates a vast domestic network in the USA including major destinations such as New York City, Washington D.C., Orlando, Salt Lake City and Atlanta.
V Australia commenced flying between Los Angeles and Sydney on 27 February, 2009. The airline will commence direct flights from Los Angeles to Brisbane on 8 April, 2009 offering a convenient service to the Sunshine State, gateway to the world famous Great Barrier Reef. The airline will also commence services from Los Angeles to Melbourne in September, 2009.

Australia’s newest international airline, V Australia, takes to the skies today with the first commercial service departing Sydney Airport, Australia at 3pm. The historic launch of V Australia flights was made possible following the signing of an open skies agreement concluded between the Federal Governments of Australia and the United States of America 12 months ago.
V Australia’s launch flight will operate from Sydney to Los Angeles, with three flights a week from today, ramping up to daily from March 20. The carrier will also launch direct flights Brisbane – Los Angeles and Melbourne – Los Angeles and recently confirmed it has set its sights on launching its next route from Australia to South Africa.
