Well, these days these one day bargain airfares are back. The rules are the same but this time the offer includes only flights from Amsterdam (some from Rotterdam as well) because – as we wrote some time ago – Transavia’s Danish business is to be terminated.
So, what is on the menu this time? Today’s route is Amsterdam – Venice for €99 all-inclusive. And tomorrow? Who knows….

The well-known Dutch carrier Transavia causes a great deal of perplexity among its passengers by announcing that the company intends to close down its Danish business. The announcement can be found on the Danish version of its home page. The statement reads that Transavia’s activities are due to carry on according to the schedule until November 01, 2010. Thereafter an unspecified reduction is going to happen. The announcement mentions also the final date – as of April 01, 2011 the entire Danish business is going to cease to exist.
In other words, in the months to come there is going to be gradually less and less cheap flights from/to Copenhagen and Billund from this carrier and we may expect other airlines to take over Transavia’s market share.
