The Brazil Airpass covers TAM’s entire domestic network (more than 45 destinations). SWISS opened its new service from Zurich to San Francisco on June 2, 2010. At the same time airline has introduced a newly designed Airbus 340 which sports a colorful flower power design with striking “San Francisco” lettering as a tribute to the West Coast city’s famed past.
The new San Francisco service will be operated six times a week (daily except of Tuesday). San Francisco is the eighth gateway served by SWISS in North America. Its passengers can also fly to Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Newark, and Montreal.

Swiss International Air Lines is adding a further major long-haul destination to its network in its 2010 summer schedules. New to the SWISS network are flights from Zurich to San Francisco, which will receive six-times-weekly service from June onwards.
Within Europe, customers will enjoy two daily services to Malaga from May. SWISS will operate to 73 destinations in 39 countries in its summer schedules. Find the whole new summer schedule at swiss.com.

British Midland International commonly known as bmi announced yesterday new codeshare agreement with Swiss International Air lines. bmi will codeshare with Swiss, also part of the Lufthansa group, on all UK to Switzerland routes including Zurich, Geneva and Basel. bmi will be now able to offer also fares from Zurich, Geneva and Basel to London Heathrow, London City, Manchester, Birmingham International and Edinburgh and improve connections between Switzerland and the wider bmi network.
The developing partnership will offer even greater flexibility to customers of both carriers and in particular will connect Scottish and Northern England passengers to Swiss’ network of 76 destinations worldwide in total.

SWISS will be further expanding its range of services between London and Geneva on January 10, 2010. An additional aircraft will be stationed in Geneva to operate the new flights. SWISS and its sister Lufthansa Group airline British Midland (bmi) also plan to collaborate more closely on their services between Switzerland and the UK.
SWISS is steadily expanding its services to and from Geneva, despite the continuing economic crisis. From January 10, 2010 onwards, SWISS will offer six new daily services between Geneva and London Heathrow. Together with a modified service of four daily flights to London City (compared to the present six), SWISS will be doubling the number of seats it offers to and from the important London market, and further strengthening its position at and around Geneva.

Privilege, the frequent flyer programme operated by Brussels Airlines, will be transferred to Miles & More from the end of October 2009. Brussels Airlines passengers will then be able to collect miles with more airlines and partner companies and redeem them for attractive awards. For the most part, Privilege members’ mileage accounts will be converted at a one-for-one ratio, and customers’ respective status will also be recognised.
This move marks the latest step in the ongoing expansion of the frequent flyer partnership launched by both airlines at the start of the summer timetable. Since the beginning of April, passengers on Lufthansa and Brussels Airline flights have been able to earn and redeem miles with the respective partner airline. Furthermore, status customers of both airlines benefit from additional privileges such as more generous free baggage allowances, preferential baggage claim and lounge access as well as the use of dedicated check-in counters.

The Chief Executive Board of Star Alliance, of which SAS Scandinavian Airlines is a founding member, has accepted the membership application of Aegean Airlines, the largest airline in Greece. This means SAS soon can offer its customers 28 new destinations in Greece. SAS currently operates 10 flights a week from both Copenhagen and Stockholm, which will connect smoothly to Aegean’s wide network. Aegean’s destinations include the islands of Corfu, Kefalonia, Kos, Mykonos, Rhodes and Santorini, amongst others.
Aegean Airlines has operated for 10 years and operates a fleet of 31 aircraft covering a total of 47 domestic and international routes on 200 daily flights. Specifically 23 routes in Greece are covered, as well as a further 24 international routes. In 2008, Aegean became the largest Greek airline in terms of passenger numbers.

SAS and its partners Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian Airlines secured the procurement contract with the Swedish government for international travel. The purchasing process was conducted by the Swedish Armed Forces Logistics, SWAFLOG, and applies to all government agencies, departments, institutes of higher education and universities. For SAS, the agreement is valued at SEK 190 M, with a potential for twice this amount.
In competition with other airlines, SAS won the procurement for all tendered international routes. In addition to price, many direct routes and an expansive route network in partnership with Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian Airlines, SAS’s strong environmental work played a key role in the selection. The airlines shall have a well-documented environmental strategy, be able to present an approved sustainability report and provide statistics regarding carbon emissions for the agencies’ trips.
