It has been announced that the Turkish SunExpress which a joint-venture cooperation between Turkish Airlines and the German-based Lufthansa will set up subsidiary next summer. The subsidiary will operate under the name SunExpress Germany and its base
will be located in Frankfurt.
Initially, the fleet of SunExpress Germany will consist of 3 Boeing 737-800 aircraft and operate flights between Germany and Turkey. The expansion plans for the winter 2011/2012 will bring another 3 aircraft and opening additional routes to Egypt.
SunExpress can boast one of the youngest fleets in Europe. The carrier jointed IATA not long ago.

Turkish airline SunExpress will start flying to 6 new destinations from its Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen (SAW) base in the winter season and add new frequencies to some of its existing routes in İzmir, Istanbul SAW and Antalya. In the winter schedule that is valid between October 25, 2009 and March 27, 2010
SunExpress will operate mutual flights from Istanbul SAW to Zurich, Hamburg, Nurnberg, Dusseldorf and Dortmund at international and to Erzincan at domestic flights.

Boeing announced an order from Turkish airline SunExpress for six Next-Generation 737-800s. The order is worth approximately $460 million at list prices. Founded in 1989 as a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, SunExpress is a scheduled and charter carrier serving the Turkish tourist market, currently operating an all-Boeing fleet of 19 airplanes.
The new airplanes will be equipped with performance-enhancing Blended Winglets, which will improve efficiency and reduce fuel consumption and are already installed across the airline’s existing 737-800 fleet.
