Frontier Airlines adds Denver – Anchorage flights

Frontier Airlines announced that it world extend its seasonal service to Anchorage, Alaska, by three weeks and will also reintroduce the popular Saturday daytime flight. The seasonal nonstop service from Denver to Anchorage that begins Friday May 14, 2010, will now operate until October 10, 2010.

Frontier began service to Anchorage in May 2004 and just recently announced service to Fairbanks, its second Alaska destination. Service to Fairbanks will launch on May 14, 2010, and will operate four days a week until September 11, 2010.

Frontier adds flights from Oklahoma to Florida

Low cost airline Frontier Airlines announced the launch of seasonal nonstop service between Oklahoma and two Florida destinations. Service between OKC and Orlando International Airport (MCO) began January 15, 2010, with four weekly nonstop flights. Service between OKC and Tampa International Airport (TPA) began Sunday, January 17, 2010, with two weekly nonstop flights.

To celebrate this new service, Frontier is offering a low $79 oneway fare between OKC and both Florida destinations. Airline tickets must be purchased by February 12, 2010 for travel through April 18, 2010. Timetable at frontierairlines.com.

Frontier increases flights to popular Mexico destinations

Frontier Airlines announced it will seasonally increase flight frequencies from Denver International Airport (DEN) to the popular Mexico destinations of Cancún (CUN), Cozumel (CZM), Puerto Vallarta (PVR), and Los Cabos (SJD).

The increased frequencies are as follows:

  • DEN-CUN – from 7 to 10 flights/week (new flights on Tue., Sat. and Sun.)
  • DEN-CZM – from 3 to 4 flights/week (new flight on Sun., additional capacity on Sat.)
  • DEN-PVR – from 7 to 8 flights/week (additional flight on Sat.)
  • DEN-SJD – from 7 to 8 flights/week (additional flight on Sat.)

    Frontier to close Las Cruces reservations operation

    In an effort to optimize operations in advance of its emergence from Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection, Frontier Airlines Holdings, Inc. announced that it will close its Las Cruces, New Mexico, reservations operation.

    All current Las Cruces employees will have the opportunity to apply for open positions at other locations within the Company. Frontier will provide moving assistance for employees who elect to relocate. Employees who choose not to move to another Frontier location and are eligible will receive severance pay.

    Frontier increases flights to leisure destinations

    Low cost airline Frontier Airlines announced it will begin new nonstop service to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) from Denver and increase the number of flights to Tampa International Airport (TPA) from Denver. Frontier will also begin offering new nonstop service to Cancún International Airport (CUN) from both Indianapolis International Airport (IND) and Lambert-St. Louis International Airport (STL), and will add a third weekly flight from Kansas City International Airport (MCI) to Cancun.

    The new flights to Florida will begin in mid-November, and those to Mexico in mid-December. But all the new flights are available for purchase now at FrontierAirlines.com.

    Frontier’s plan of reorganization confirmed by Bankruptcy Court

    Frontier Airlines Holdings, Inc. announced today that the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York has confirmed the Company’s Plan of Reorganization.

    The Company successfully resolved the few objections to its Plan of Reorganization prior to today, resulting in an uncontested confirmation hearing. Frontier, along with its legal advisors Davis Polk and Wardwell LLP and financial advisors Seabury Group, LLC, has worked throughout its stay in bankruptcy to achieve consensual resolutions with affected parties, which has become a hallmark of Frontier’s entire Chapter 11 case.

    Frontier Airlines announces fee changes

    Frontier Airlines announced it will change its checked bag fee from $15 to $20 for the first checked bag and from $25 to $30 for the second checked bag. The new fee goes into effect for tickets purchased on or after September 8, 2009 and applies to travel commencing on or after October 1, 2009.

    Frontier is also reducing certain fees. Customers who purchase an Economy ticket can now change travel plans for a $100 change fee, down from $150. Economy travelers can also get a confirmed seat on the same day of travel on a different flight for $100. Those who purchase Classic tickets can receive a confirmed seat on the same day of travel on a different flight for $50. The change fee on a Classic ticket remains unchanged at $50.

    Frontier’ plan of reorganization approved by creditors

    September 3rd, 2009

    Frontier Airlines Holdings, Inc. announced that its Plan of Reorganization has been approved by the necessary majority of creditors enabled to vote on the Plan. In fact, an overwhelming majority of eligible voting creditors voted in favor of the Plan, with 92.58 percent of the voting creditors and 99.84 percent of the dollar amount of voting claims approving the Plan.

    In addition, the deadline for filing objections to the Plan has now passed and only a small number of objections were filed. Frontier’s legal representatives believe most are technical or procedural in nature, and Frontier should be able to consensually resolve most or all of the objections, setting the stage for a largely uncontested Confirmation Hearing.
