in-flight food and beverage ©summer park

When it comes to in-flight food, which nowadays is a regular ancillary service and no longer and obvious part of the flying experience, we can observe a stratification which by and large comes down to two trends. Low-cost airlines overcharge you for a dishwater of a coffee and a child portion of insipid food which makes them what they are: low-cost.

On the other hand there are those more traditional carriers offering a variety of products depending how much you are willing to put up. Quite a few new routes in 2011

February 7th, 2011

checkin

Hi there. We start off this week with quite a number of new routes in an attempt to keep YOU updated. We will look into the new services very briefly as the sheer quantity does not allow us to go into the details.

One year ago Allegiant moved 10 of its routes from Orlando Sanford International Airport to Orlando International Airport but now announced the homecoming of all ten routes in a bid to consolidate its all Orlando flights. The routes in question are e.g. Orlando Sanford – Allentown, Orlando Sanford – Des Moines or Orlando Sanford – Lexington. By now the return of all the routes should be accomplished.

While Allegiant is reshuffling the existing routes, Skyways is growing big time. Following the merger with Avia Express and a shift in ownership, this Swedish-based low-cost airline is adding six new international destinations and one domestic destination to its route network. The carriers new base becomes Airport Jönköping. The change will be marked by the opening of new services from Jönköping to Brussels and from Jönköping to Berlin Tegel. Both services will be in operation as of March 28, 2011.
