It happened again – the spectre of strike looms over travellers. Passengers flying to or via London Airport (LHR) will probably face major disruptions on Wednesday November 30, 2011 when even as much as 2.6 million public sector employees are due to walk out in protest over pension changes.
The problem for travellers is that among them are UK Border Agency employees. The British authorities are taking measures in order to minimize the impact of the strike by training volunteers and fetching help from other departments.

Emirates’ check-in online procedure allows you to save time by doing on the screen of your laptop what you otherwise would do at an overcrowded airport. It is available for all passengers with a valid e-ticket. Check-in opens 24 hours before the scheduled departure and closes 90 minutes before the scheduled departure.

Carry-on baggage
In economy class, the standard amount of carry-on items, meaning one, is allowed. The maximum size of your carry on bag must not exceed 55 cm x 38 cm x 20 cm or 22” x 15” x 8” while the maximum weight is 7 kg or 15 lb. In addition to what is above, one is also permitted to carry on board duty-free commodities.
