After its withdrawal from Marseille following a legal despite with French Authorities, Ryanair expands its Marseille operations for a period of four months (April 14 – September 4, 2011). The development will translate into 24 routes (of which 11 are new ones). Moreover this Irish low-cost airline has announced it reopens flights to Kaunas in Lithuania as of April 14, 2011.

Delta to launch flights from Memphis to Mexico City

October 13th, 2010

Delta Air Lines announced that it would add new flights form Memphis International. Airport. Flights from Memphis to Mexico City will start from January 8, 2011. This addition means Delta’s sixth international destination from Memphis.

The new Mexico City flight will be operated once a week on Saturdays with 124-seat Airbus A319 aircraft.

In addition to Mexico City, Delta operates international flights from Memphis to Amsterdam, Toronto and seasonal services to Cancun, Cozumel and Montego Bay. Details and timetable can be found at delta.com.

Delta to launch new flights to Luanda

Delta Air Lines announced that it would add an eighth destination to its growing Africa route network in January, with direct service between the United States and Luanda, Angola. Flights from Atlanta to Luanda will be operated three times a week with Airbus A330-200.

Flights between Atlanta and Luanda via Dakar will be available for sale to customers at delta.com and through travel agencies beginning Saturday October 2. The new Luanda service marks a return of nonstop flight from Atlanta to Dakar, adding to existing year-round service between the Senegalese capital and New York JFK Airport.

Hawaiian and Delta sign codeshare agreement

Hawaiian Airlines and Delta Air Lines announced the signing of a new codeshare agreement. Delta’s customers will now have the access to connecting flights within the Hawaiian Islands. Beginning September 15, customers will be able to connect between their Delta flights and 70 daily inter-island flights operated by Hawaiian Airlines on a single ticket. Hawaiian flights will connect Delta customers between Honolulu and Kahului, Lihue, Kona and Hilo, as well as from Kona to Kahului.

Delta will offer nonstop service from Honolulu to Atlanta, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Seattle, San Francisco and Salt Lake City. It also launches nonstop service from Los Angeles to Kahului airport in Maui, Lihue and Kona, and daily nonstop flights between Honolulu and Tokyo-Narita and Osaka. Delta also has announced plans to add new nonstop flights between Honolulu and Nagoya from December 22.

Delta to launch flights from New York to Iceland

Delta Air Lines announced that it would add new nonstop flights from New York to Reykjavik. New service will begin June 1, 2011 and will be operated daily with a 170-seat Boeing 757-200 aircraft. The flight will also operate from Delta’s hub in Minneapolis St. Paul under the same flight number with a stop at New York. Details can be found at delta.com.

Delta applies for expanded service to Brazil

July 27th, 2010

Delta Air Lines submitted an application to the U.S. Department of Transportation to expand its service between the United States and Brazil, which would allow increased flights from Detroit to Sao Paulo.

Delta has received approval to begin twice-weekly service between Detroit and Sao Paulo. However, Delta wants to operate this new service five times a week. The flights will be operated with 216-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. Delta currently offers service from Atlanta to Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Manaus; and service from New York to Sao Paulo.  For more details visit delta.com.

Delta announces Tokyo – Haneda flight schedules

Delta Air Lines announced flight schedules for new daily flights from Tokyo to Detroit and Los Angeles. The new flights, which begin January 29, 2011, will be available for sale to customers beginning Saturday, July 17 at delta.com and through other ticketing channels.
