Low cost airline Allegiant Air announced that it would establish a new base in Grand Rapids. At the same time it will also launch new nonstop service to Myrtle Beach.
From April 27, the low cost airline will base two 150-seat MD-80 series jet aircraft at the airport. Allegiant’s operation will grow to 34 flights per week and 60 well-compensated positions including pilots, ground handlers, customer service agents, flight attendants and aircraft technicians.

Low cost airline Allegiant Air, LLC, a subsidiary of Allegiant Travel Company, announced it will establish a new base at Orlando International Airport (MCO) beginning February 1, 2010. The low-fare carrier will initially serve 10 U.S. cities from the base.
Allegiant currently offers nonstop, scheduled service to Orlando from 31 U.S. cities via Orlando-Sanford International Airport. The 10 selected cities reflect a portion of the company’s current operation at Sanford, Fla. which will move to Orlando International Airport, starting Feb. 1, 2010. The move provides Allegiant customers with more convenient access to the popular theme parks in Orlando and allows the carrier to remain competitive in the markets it serves. Allegiant will continue to offer flights to Orlando-Sanford International Airport from the other 21 cities currently served by the airline.

Low cost airline Allegiant Air announced that it would offer nonstop service to Phoenix-Mesa from Wichita beginning November 20. The carrier celebrates the convenient new service to Arizona with introductory fares.
Allegiant’s $59.99 one-way introductory fare is limited, must be purchased by October 21, 2009 and is valid for travel through February 10, 2010. Introductory fares are not available on all flights. After the introductory fare period, regular one-way fares on the route start as low as $79.99 one-way. Allegiant Travel Company announced today that its Allegiant Air subsidiary has chosen to exit the Cuban family charter programs that it currently flies for five separate charter program sponsors and has therefore recently exercised the 120-day notice periods to cancel the relevant contracts.
Allegiant Air has a single aircraft dedicated to its Cuba programs and currently expects to return that aircraft into its scheduled service fleet later this year. Allegiant Air’s charter planning team is working closely with the five Cuba program sponsors affected to ensure a smooth transition for all parties.
