Vacation airline Air Transat will offer passengers the opportunity to check in online up to 24 hours prior to the departure of their flight. The days of passengers lining up at the check-in counter are gone. Now they will be able to choose their seats from the comfort of their own home, and simply deposit their luggage at the baggage drop-off counter at the airport.
This service will be available for Montreal, Quebec City, Halifax, Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and Orlando departures. For more details please visit airtran.com.

Air Transat is pleased to have been honoured once more as industry favourites by Canadian travel agents in the 2009 Agent Choice Awards. Every year, Baxter Publications conducts a major survey in its trade publications. The poll, which deals with specific industry issues, is aimed at Canadian travel agents. The recipients of the Agent Choice Awards are then selected according to the survey results.
This year, Air Transat was named favourite charter airline by travel agents and received the Agents´Choice Award 2009 for that category.

Because of the situation caused by influenza A (H1N1), Air Transat has cancelled the following flights to Mexico:
- Flights departing from Montreal between June 1st and 19
- Flights departing from Toronto between June 1st and 25
- Flights departing from Western Canada between June 1st and 25
After this date, unless there is a worsening of the situation, operations to Mexico will resume with possible adjustments depending on demand, and travellers will be able to take full advantage, at good rates, of Mexican beaches for the summer season.
