Don’t you think it is high time to refresh our knowledge about the baggage allowance of Air France? After all, this is one of the most popular airlines worldwide. We start with what you can carry onto a plane.

Air France – hand-baggage allowance

If you travel in the Voyageur/Economy cabin, your baggage allowance is as follows: 1 standard baggage item not exceeding the following dimensions: 55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm (L x W x H). This includes pockets, wheels, and handles.

In addition, you can carry on board one more item such as a handbag, a notebook or a camera but the total weight of all items cannot exceed 12 kg/26.5 lb

Travelling with an infant on your lap? Then you can carry 1 additional small baggage item in the cabin at no extra charge. (up to 12 kg/26.4 lb, 55 x 25 x 35 cm or 21.6 x 9.8 x 13.7 in)

Air France – check-in baggage allowance

For most of the destinations, the allowance is 1 item weighing up to 23 kg at no extra charge. It concerns flights across France and Europe as well as flights to North Africa, Israel, routes between Europe and North America and Europe and the Middle East. There are some exceptions though. We will give you a couple of examples:

  • flights between France and Corsica – you can have a couple of baggage items, but their combined weight must not exceed 23 kgnakládání zavazadel
  • flights to many African destinations (apart from North Africa) e.g. Abidjan, Accra or Douala as well as flights to Quito, Guayaquil or Réunion – 2 items up to 23 kg and 158 cm
  • trips where 1st flight departs from Brazil – 2 baggage items weighing up to 32 kg
