Qantas check-in

November 30th, 2011

Hi flyers, Today in our informative series about check-in, we are going to explain how to check in when flying with the renowned Australian carrier – Qantas Airways.

Qantas online check-in

It is easy – just go to the upper menu, choose “fly” and then go to “check-in”. All you have to do is to select passenger, choose your flight, select or change your seat and print your boarding card.

If you are travelling with carry-on baggage only, make your way through security checkinand head straight to the gate. Travellers with checked baggage will need to drop their bags at bag drop at least 30/90 minutes before departure (domestic/international flights).

Qantas airport check-in

The easiest way to check in at the airport is to use the check-in kiosks. This applies to both domestic flights and flights departing to London Airport (LHR). The kiosks enable you to do a variety of things – print your boarding card, select your seat or view details concerning your flight. Other than that, you can always go to the check-in counters and be attended to by the staff.

As far as Qantas’ check-in times are concerned, it is from 24 hours to 2 hours before departure for international flights. The recommended check-in ranges between 120 minutes and 45 minutes depending on whether your travel with or without checked baggage or from an international terminal or not.

Qantas mobile check-in

Another easy way to check-in is using your mobile device. It is available from 24 hours up until 45 minutes prior to the flight departure. You will receive your boarding card as a text message. Scan it at the boarding gate. Travelling without checked baggage? Check-in and go to the gate.
