Baggage policy: Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium
In today’s article of our series dedicated to the baggage policy of low-cost airlines as well as traditional carriers, we would like to look briefly into what kind of allowances and restrictions one can expect when flying with the Diegem-based Thomas Cook Airline Belgium, a carrier operating charter flights to some of the most popular leisure destinations.
Remember to make sure that the flight you bought from Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium is operated by this very carrier. Otherwise other rules may apply to your baggage!
Carry-on baggage
That is simple – you are allowed to take on board one piece of hand baggage with a maximum weight of 6 kg and not exceeding the following measurements: 55 x 40 x 20 cm.
Checked baggage
The general rule is that the carrier permits one piece of checked baggage with a maximum weight of 20 kg but there is a exception from this rule: in case you travel between November and March and stay abroad for over 22 days, you permitted to take as much as 30 kg. However it does not apply to every single destinations so you had better call the customer service and find out if you can take advantage of this increased allowance.
Excess baggage and special baggage
Unfortunately this Belgian airline skimps on details when it comes to the issue of excess baggage and mentions only that «you shall have to pay a surcharge per kilogram at the check-in counter of the airline».
In regard to the question of special baggage, one can bring a wheelchair to the entrance of the plane and then the wheelchair is taken care of by the staff and stored in the baggage hold as long as the passenger requests it in advance. The same goes for a pushchair or a stroller. It does not incur any surcharge.
