We continue in our series of articles describing the luggage policy of different airlines. This time we will take up the topic of Vueling. This Barcelona-based carrier enlist the rules governing luggage in a clear manner. We will skip over some obvious matters like the ubiquitously valid prohibitions against carrying of firearms and other items a posing threat to safety. Let us take a look at how much kilograms we can carry when travelling with Vueling.

Hand luggage
Each passenger may carry one piece of hand luggage with a maximum weight of 10 kg, the dimensions of which do not exceed 55x40x20 cm. If you breach the regulations as to the quantity or size, what exceeds the allowed quantity will end up in the aircraft hold. Needless to say, get your wallet ready as this will imply additional costs – €30 per suitcase.

In addition to the hand luggage one is allowed to carry on board at no extra cost:

  • A handbag or small wallet
  • A coat or travel rug
  • A walking stick
  • A pair of crutches
  • A small camera or video camera or binoculars
  • A laptop computer

Check-in luggage
As far as check-in luggage restrictions are concerned, the rule is that unless stated otherwise one can check in one item of luggage weighing up to 23 kg. As for the we check-in price, it costs €10 to check in one suitcase. Vueling offers the opportunity to increase this limit by paying €10 per leg per suitcase but remember to give a bell to the Customer Service Centre as at the check-in counter unregistered suitcases will incur a cost of €20 per flight and suitcase. A maximum weight of 50 kg is the total luggage weight allowed per Passenger

Excess luggage

The last important matter is excess luggage. In case you exceed the limit of 23 kg you slim your wallet by €10 for every additional kilogram.

These are the quintessential regulations governing how much stuff you are allowed to take with you. Should you be interested in learning some nuances – e.g. rules concerning transporting pet – go to the carrier’s web site and open the useful info section.
