TAP Portugal will fly to Algiers starting June 1

TAP Portugal is going to launch new flights from Lisbon to Algiers from June 1, 2010. TAP will operate three flights a week to Algiers on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with 45-seater Embraer aircraft.

The Lisbon – Algiers flights depart at 3:45 pm and arrive at the Algerian capital at 6:05 pm. Return flights depart Algiers at 6:50 pm and arrive in Lisbon at 9:00 pm. TAP also recently announced that it would open a new route to Marrakesh, also starting in June, with three weekly flights operating on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.


With the opening of these new routes in June, the TAP network will include eleven cities in nine African countries, operating a total of 58 weekly flights between Portugal and the Africa. In Morocco, Marrakesh will join Casablanca, a destination with 13 TAP flights per week. TAP flies seven times a week to Sal and Praia in Cape Verde and to to Dakar, Senegal. Last year, the airline increased the number of weekly flights from Lisbon to Luanda to ten. For its combined Maputo – Johannesburg route, TAP offers three flights a week and weekly direct flight just to the capital of Mozambique. It also offers three weekly flights to Bissau and one to São Tomé.
