Low cost airlines’ baggage policy: Ryanair
Baggage policy of low cost airlines is sometimes a bit confusing for those who are not used to fly often. When you buy your airline tickets with low cost carrier you should take into account that there could be fees even for checked baggage, baggage allowance is lower and excess baggage fees are higher.

Low cost airline Ryanair is known mainly thanks to its fees for all services that are not directly connected with the flight. Not only you have to pay for airport check-in and on-line check-in you have to prepare €5 for payment processing fee.
Cabin Baggage
One of the things for free is cabin baggage. Free cabin baggage allowance is 1 piece of cabin baggage. It should weigh no more than 10 kg and not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm.
Checked Baggage
Each passenger is permitted to check in up to a maximum of 2 bags with a maximum weight of 15 kilos per bag . Checked baggage can be purchased online at the time of booking, via the ‘Manage My Booking’ section of our website or via call centre. First checked baggage can weigh max 15 kg and passengers have to pay €15 when checked online and €35 when checked at the airport or via call centre. Second baggage has also 15 kg allowance however you will have to pay €35 when booked via ryanair.com and €70 when booked differently.
Excess Baggage
Ryanair’s passengers can also carry more than checked baggage weighing 15 kg. However, there are quite high excess baggage fees. Each excess kilo costs €20 and the excess weigh can only be purchased at the airport ticket desk. Ryanair doesn’t accepr for carriage any individual item exceeding 32 kg or with combined dimensions of more than 81cms (height), 119cms (width) and 119cms (depth).
