JetBlue Airways announces $99 sale fare to Punta Cana
To celebrate its 61st Blue City, JetBlue announced an introductory $99 sale fare each way between Punta Cana and New York‘s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) or Boston’s Logan International Airport. Flights must be booked by February 1, 2010 at jetblue.com and travel must take place between May 8 and June 12, 2010. Taxes, fees and restrictions apply.
JetBlue will begin daily nonstop flights year-round between Aeropuerto Internacional de Punta Cana and New York/JFK on May 6, 2010, and nonstop weekly flights (on Saturdays) from Boston’s Logan International, on May 8, 2010. Punta Cana will be JetBlue’s 15th international destination and fourth destination in the Dominican Republic, where the airline has grown substantially in recent years to become the nation’s #1 airline.
Punta Cana will also be JetBlue’s 34th nonstop city from Boston, where the airline already offers service to more nonstop destinations than any other carrier. JetBlue will continue its growth at Logan on May 13, 2010 with new nonstop daily service to its 35th destination: San Jose, California. Flights between Boston and San Jose are now available to book on jetblue.com.
“JetBlue is happy to be adding Punta Cana to our group of Dominican destinations. We are confident this destination will be, like our other destinations on the island, a great success,” said Scott Laurence, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning. “We are very happy with our operations in the D.R. and look forward to continuing our growth and sharing the JetBlue Experience – complete with free snacks, drinks, seatback TVs and friendly service – with more travelers to and from the island.”
JetBlue will operate its Punta Cana service with spacious 150-seat Airbus A320 aircraft. The A320 offers travelers all of the amenities for which JetBlue has become well-regarded: complimentary seatback television programming, free first-run movies on flights outside the continental U.S., comfortable leather seats, the most legroom in coach of any U.S. airline, unlimited free snacks and industry-leading customer service.
