Air Berlin: Check-in service at Swiss railway stations

November 6th, 2009

The Air Berlin Group is extending its range of services in Switzerland: From 1st December 2009 passengers travelling with the second largest German airline can use SBB’s “Check-in at the station” service, which means that they will be able to check in for the flight and have the added convenience of simply checking in their baggage at more than 50 railway stations in Switzerland.

Passengers will also receive their boarding pass and be allocated a seat at the station. This arrangement allows customers to enjoy a stress-free start to their journey. Passengers can check in as early as 24 hours before the departure of their flight. The service costs CHF 20 per suitcase, including the boarding pass, or CHF 10 without baggage to check in.

This service is also available for the return flight. The Fly-Rail-Baggage-Service will transfer baggage from any airport in the world and deliver it direct to selected railway stations in Switzerland. The service saves waiting for baggage in Zurich or Geneva and also costs CHF 20 per item of baggage.
