Virgin Atlantic and VisitBritain bring a bit of Britain to Boston
On Wednesday, September 23, Virgin Atlantic Airways, one of the world’s leading long-haul airlines, and VisitBritain, the national tourist office for England, Scotland and Wales, will take over parts of Boston with nine iconic British telephone booths ringing throughout the day.
British characters – Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I look-a-likes, British Bobbies (policemen), Bagpipers and other personalities – will be on-site to help Bostonians, who dare to answer the call, complete simple trivia questions for a chance to win a five-night trip to London with Virgin Atlantic that includes hotel accommodations and a $500 Gift Card.
Fun and festivities kick off at Boylston Plaza at the Prudential Center at 7:00 a.m. to greet early morning commuters and run until 7:00 p.m. for the evening rush hour.
What: Britain Calling with Virgin Atlantic and VisitBritain
Why: Virgin Atlantic and VisitBritain are hosting this event to celebrate that there’s no better time to get more Britain for your buck with historic deals on hotels and airfares. Britain is much more affordable since the dollar goes further than it did one year ago. Affordable airfares from Virgin Atlantic and hotel deals should inspire Americans, who suffer from a ‘vacation deficit,’ to take a desperately needed break across the pond this year.
When: Wednesday, September 23, 2009
Where: Boylston Plaza, 800 Boylston Street: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
