Blue Air fleet reached 9 airplanes

Blue Air Company increased its fleet by another Boeing 737 – 500 aircraft with 126 seats. With this purchase, the fleet has now 9 available airplanes for the flights operated by the company.

“We are glad to inform you the arrival of number nine airplane in our fleet. This Boeing 737 – 500 aircraft has 126 seats and as of this week it operates Blue Air flights. With this new airliner we will be able to increase the frequency of our current destinations and to introduce new flights in the winter schedule for 2009-2010. Moreover, it will enable us to carry on the development of smart flying concept which reflects an enhanced quality and range of services. Only in this summer our company launched 19 new routes”, declared Mr. Adrian Ionascu, General Manager of Blue Air.

In 2008 Blue Air Company concluded a sale – purchase contract for five airplanes Boeing 737 Next Generation, three aircrafts for 900 ER series, and two aircrafts for 800 series which are to be delivered in the following 3-4 years. Within the current contract, Blue Air Company is under negotiation with Boeing Company for the purchase of another 10 Boeing 737 Next Generation aircrafts to which are added 5 additional options. Thus, in case of a further order, Blue Air will have priority regarding the delivery period for the additional order of 5 airliners. The total investment that Blue Air Company will make after completing the negotiations, at the catalogue value, will be of more than one billion US dollars.
