Wizz Air introduces new baggage policy
Wizz Air implements important changes from May 22, 2009 in the baggage related rules:
- The total allowance for all pieces of checked-in baggage combined will be reduced from 20kg to 15kg for all new bookings.
- Excess baggage weight fee charged at the airport will increase from GBP 9 to GBP 13.5 (€10 to €15) per additional kilogram for all customers.
- For booking made before May 22, the 20 kg weight limit will be unchanged.
With Wizz Air new “add on service”, it is now possible to add additional pieces of checked-in baggage and excess baggage weight via wizzair.com to your existing booking. You can also do so by calling the Call Centre. You can also add extra travel related services to your original booking such as priority boarding and extra legroom seats at a cheaper price than at the airport.
Wizz Air will also be reinforcing stricter rules at the airport on hand baggage restrictions. With the introduction of Wizz Air new add on service, not only it is easy to purchase additional services for an existing booking, but it is much cheaper than doing so at the airport.
