Air Transat cancelled selected flights to Mexico
Because of the situation caused by influenza A (H1N1), Air Transat has cancelled the following flights to Mexico:
- Flights departing from Montreal between June 1st and 19
- Flights departing from Toronto between June 1st and 25
- Flights departing from Western Canada between June 1st and 25
After this date, unless there is a worsening of the situation, operations to Mexico will resume with possible adjustments depending on demand, and travellers will be able to take full advantage, at good rates, of Mexican beaches for the summer season.
All customers of Air Transat who were scheduled to fly to Mexico from Canada on those dates can change their travel plans, with no additional service charges, in accordance with the following guidelines:
1. Travel on a later date or to another destination: Passengers who wish to travel on a later date or to another destination can do so. The trip must be completed on or before December 18, 2009. If the price of the new package is higher than that of the trip originally planned, the passenger must cover the difference in price.
2. Cancel trip and obtain a refund: Because those flights are cancelled, Transat Holidays is taking measures to ensure that uninsured customers can obtain a full refund.
Air Transat is following the situation closely and could take additional measures depending on decisions that will be made by the public health authorities and governments concerned. Similarly, the aforementioned measures could be changed as the situation evolves.
